  • 3,482,948 cattle and 211,510 calves slaughtered in federally and provincially inspected establishments in Canada
  • 1.35 million tonnes of beef and 33,970 tonnes of veal produced.
  • Exports: 646,884 head of cattle and calves valued at $1.0 billion; 506,578 tonnes of beef and veal valued at $4.45 billion
  • Imports: 401,469 head of cattle and calves valued at $454 million; 161,513 tonnes of beef and veal valued at $1.42 billion
  • Farm cash receipts from the sale of cattle and calves totaled $10.2 billion, 12.4% of total receipts.
