Poultry market information calendar

This table provides the calendar for most poultry market information reports with a calendar week ending date of Saturday. For the Canadian Food Inspection Agency meat trade report calendar, please refer to the weekly livestock report schedule.

This calendar is for weekly comparison purposes. It lines up the current-year week numbers to same last-year week numbers. It does not reflect the dates included in monthly reports.
The following poultry datasets use this calendar: slaughter, processed eggs production, prices and egg imports and exports.
The decision on the monthly split is as follows: if the week ends on the 4th or later, the week is associated to the new month. If not, it is associated to the previous month. The decision split for monthly reporting differs.A year ends on the last week that 4 or more days fall in December. If the last week of the year starts in December but has less than 4 days in December, then it is the start of the new year. Week #1 of the year can end on a January 4th at the earliest. The following weeks are simply 7 day periods.

The Weekly Hatchery Calendar is different. We do an collection split around the December 31st. For the final week of the year, we will collect two reports. So the 1st week of the year will contain the January 1st to the 1st Saturday and the last week of the year will end on December 31st regardless of the weekday.
