Sector Engagement and Development
Main objective
The Sector Engagement and Development service helps improve the sector’s competitiveness, growth and adaptability by providing core industry services, such as timely market information and sector expertise. Through the AgriCompetitiveness program, matching non-repayable funding is provided to help the sector build on existing capacity, adapt to changing commercial and regulatory environments, share best practices, and provide mentorship opportunities.

Main objective
The primary objective of the Program is to strengthen the sector and build its capacity by: helping diverse groups to better develop their skills to take on a greater leadership role; building the entrepreneurial capacity and business skills of under-represented groups; facilitating the sharing of industry experience, best practices and knowledge to help under-represented groups to manage transformation and adapt to changes in business operations; and strengthening the sector by incorporating the views of a greater diversity of industry players.

Main objective
The objective is to establish Farm Products Agencies Act - Part II national marketing agencies with powers relating to any farm product or farm products where it is satisfied that majorities are in favour of the establishment of an agency. An agency shall conduct its operations on a self-sustaining financial basis, and grants to an agency, not exceeding in the aggregate one hundred thousand dollars to enable the agency to meet initial operating and establishment expenses.
