California exported $5.0 billion to Canada, including: 

  • $1.6B in fruit and nuts
  • $1.1B in vegetables and roots
  • $437M in wine
  • $427M in preparations of vegetables, fruits or nuts
  • $271M in edible preparations*

California imported $3.7 billion from Canada, including:

  • $595M in fresh or chilled beef
  • $521M in oil-cakes
  • $467M in baked goods
  • $336M in canola oil
  • $260M in vegetables and roots

California’s top agriculture and agri-food export markets:

  • Canada: 18%
  • Mexico: 11%
  • China: 10%
  • Japan: 8%
  • Korea: 7%

* the category “edible preparations” includes products such as tea substitutes, vegetable preparations, flavoring extracts, powders and essences, milk or cream substitutes, jelly powders, juices from concentrate, soups, condiments, yeasts and ice cream.
