- Shelf stable meat typically sold in cans, glass jars or aluminum/retort packaging. This includes processed plain meat products such as sausages, hot dog, ham, corned beef, spam, luncheon meat, pate etc.
- Chilled processed red meat
- Packaged processed red meat (ie, beef, pork, lamb) includes meat-based burgers, sausages, frankfurters, mortadella, pâté, ham (standard or smoked), salami (also regional specialties such as German or Italian salami), bacon, pepperoni, chorizo, chilled meat snacks (meat or poultry based), etc. Unpackaged chilled processed meat sold over-the-counter (that is, via deli counters) is wholly excluded.
- Frozen processed red meat
- Processed products are cuts of plain meat which are further prepared, typically with the addition of other ingredients including sauce, marinade, seasoning, breading/batter, etc. Product types include: sausages, meat burgers, boeuf Bourguignon, pork chop with seasoning, beef in curry sauce, wiener schnitzel, etc
- Meat substitutes
- Product types include: vegetarian sausages, vegetarian burgers, bean burgers etc typically made of quorn mycoprotein, tofu, soy, or texturized vegetable protein.
