Colombia is the 42nd largest importer of agri-food and seafood products in the world. Colombia recorded imports of Can$9.4 billion in 2020, and Canada's share was 6.4% or Can$600.1 million.

Colombia is a net exporter of agri-food and seafood products with a trade surplus of Can$1.1 billion in 2020. Colombia's agri-food and seafood imports increased at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.5% from 2016 to 2020.

The top five agri-food and seafood suppliers to Colombia represented Can$6.5 billion or 69.2% of total imports in 2020. Top supplying countries to Colombia were predominantly Latin American countries. The largest supplying non-Latin American countries were, the United States (U.S.), Canada, Spain, China (People's Republic of), and the United Kingdom. The top five imports to Colombia from 2016 to 2020 were corn, oilcakes, wheat and meslin, soybean oil and fish, prepared or preserved.

In 2020, Canada had an agri-food and seafood trade surplus of Can$249.3 million with Colombia. Colombia's agri-food and seafood imports from Canada have increased by a CAGR of 6.2% from 2016 to 2020. Top imports from Canada were wheat and meslin, dried leguminous vegetables, and food preparations.

Colombia is a net exporter of agri-food and seafood products. In 2020, Colombia's agri-food and seafood trade surplus were Can$1.1 billion with imports valued at Can$9.4 billion, and Can$10.5 billion in exports. Colombia's agri-food and seafood imports increased at a CAGR of 3.5% from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, Canada had an agri-food and seafood trade surplus of Can$249.3 million with Colombia.

Colombia's top agri-food and seafood imports in 2020 were corn, oilcakes, wheat and meslin, soybean oil and fish, prepared or preserved. Top supplying countries to Colombia were predominantly Latin American nations, led by Ecuador, Brazil, and Argentina, with Ecuador being the 2nd largest exporter of agri-food and seafood commodities to Colombia after the U.S., covering Can$603.1 million or 6.4% of the market in 2020. The United States remains the largest exporter of agri-food and seafood commodities to Peru, covering Can$4.2 billion or 44.9% of the market in 2020. The largest supplying non-Latin American countries were, the United States (U.S.), Canada, Spain, China (People's Republic of), and the United Kingdom. Imports from Canada increased between 2016 and 2020 by a CAGR of 6.2% to rank 3rd overall in terms of market share at 6.4% in 2020. From 2016-2020 Canada has maintained an average of 6.0% market share of Colombia's agri-food and seafood imports.

In 2020, Canada ranked 1st for wheat and meslin, 6th for food preparations, and 1st for dried leguminous vegetables import supply into Colombia among global trade partners, supplying Colombia with Can$561.3 million worth of these three commodities or 93.5% of total Canadian import values to Colombia. Wheat and meslin, food preparations, and dried leguminous vegetables were the fastest growing imports among the top fifteen imports of Colombia from Canada between 2016 and 2020. In 2020, Canada's import supply gap to Colombia was Can$8.8 billion, which grew by a CAGR of 3.4% between 2016 and 2020.

In 2020, corn was Colombia's top agri-food and seafood commodity import from the world with a value of Can$1.6 billion or 17.5% of overall agri-food and seafood imports. The largest supplier of corn to Colombia was the U.S., importing Can$1.3 billion or 82.3% of imported corn to Colombia in 2020. Canada does not supply corn to Colombia.

In 2020, wheat and meslin was Colombia's third largest agri-food and seafood commodity import from the world with a value of Can$642.9 million or 6.9% of overall agri-food and seafood imports. The largest supplier of wheat and meslin to Colombia was Canada, importing Can$450.8 million or 70.1% of imported wheat and meslin to Colombia in 2020. Imports have risen steadily from 2016 and 2020 by a CAGR of 8.1%, while Colombia's other suppliers of wheat and meslin, the U.S. and Argentina has seen slight decreases in imports by a CAGR of −4.0% and −27.8% from 2016 to 2020, respectively.
