1. What this program offers

Support for national industry associations and small and medium-sized enterprises

Check out the new support for market diversification launched on February 13, 2026. Each support has its own application process.

The AgriMarketing Program is a $129.97-million program under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP).

The program aims to increase and diversify exports to global markets and seize market opportunities via industry-led promotional activities to differentiate Canadian products and producers, by leveraging Canada's reputation for high-quality and safe food. The program supports a wide range of agricultural sectors, such as:

  • field crops
  • fish and seafood
  • food and beverage
  • horticulture
  • livestock

Program objectives

If you receive funding, you'll work to meet the following program objectives:

  • increase and diversify exports to markets where Canada has free trade agreements in place
  • increase and diversify Canada’s exports to better target demand in emerging global markets
  • increase the visibility of Canadian products with consumers in Canada and abroad
  • increase the capacity of exporting producers to identify and seize market development opportunities across Canada and around the world

The program also offers additional support to multiple sectors, tailored to their specific needs. Each support has its own application process:

  • Market Diversification for National Industry Associations (not-for-profit) — supports the Canadian agriculture, agri-food and agri-products sector (including fish and seafood) by delivering national and/or agriculture and agri-food sector-wide projects that target new opportunities in high-growth potential and non-traditional markets to increase and diversify exports and strengthen interprovincial trade
  • Market Diversification for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (for profit) — supports the Canadian agriculture, agri-food and agri-products sector (including fish and seafood) by targeting new opportunities in high-growth potential and non-traditional markets to increase and diversify exports and strengthen interprovincial trade
  • Kosher and Halal Investment Component — supports the Canadian Kosher and Halal red meat sector for export promotion, market development and trade in Canada and abroad

Funding

If you receive funding, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) may contribute a total up to $2 million per year or a maximum of $10 million over 5 years toward your project(s).

Cost-sharing

Contributions toward eligible costs will normally be shared between AAFC and you as follows:

  • AAFC — a maximum of 50%
  • You — a minimum of 50%

Your portion of the cost-share must be cash contributions.note 1 In-kind contributions are ineligible.note 2

You may receive an additional 20% on the cost-share ratio under the following 2 priority areas:

  • AAFC — 70%
  • You — 30%
  1. to support eligible project activities for market diversification efforts targeting the following lucrative, high-growth markets in the Indo-Pacific Region:
    • Bangladesh
    • Brunei
    • Cambodia
    • Indonesia
    • Laos
    • Malaysia
    • Myanmar
    • Nepal
    • the Philippines
    • Pakistan
    • Singapore
    • Sri Lanka
    • Taiwan
    • Thailand
    • Vietnam
  2. where the majority of the business (more than 50%) is owned or led by one or more of the following underrepresented and marginalized groups:
    • Indigenous Peoples
    • youth, aged 39 and under
    • women
    • visible minorities
    • persons with disabilities
    • 2SLGBTQI+
