• In 2025, Canada produced poultry and egg products worth $6.5 billion, contributing 6.4% of cash receipts to farming operations.
• In 2025, there were 2,834 regulated chicken producers and 488 registered turkey producers, 235 broiler hatching egg producers and 1,295 egg producers in Canada. In addition to the 4,852 commercial poultry and egg producers in Canada, there were a large number of businesses associated with these production activities.

• In 2025, Canada exported 3.1 million hatching eggs of different species, worth $77.4 million dollars, to 18 countries. The United States was the largest export market with 71.3% of our value exported heading south of the border, while other primary countries included Russia, Brazil and Austria.
• In 2025, Canada exported over 2.5 million kilograms of processed eggs worth 14.6 million dollars and 3.7 million shell eggs worth $8.0 million dollars.
• In 2025, the Canadian commercial poultry and egg industry was affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza with over 2.4 million birds affected in 6 provinces.
