The Food Policy for Canada supports collaboration across departments to leverage policy and program successes, and identify new initiatives to address emerging issues and priority gaps in our food systems. The Food Policy also enables greater coherence and coordination among federal policies and programs and considers the entirety of the food system to improve social, health, environmental, and economic outcomes. As part of implementing the Food Policy for Canada, the Government of Canada invested $134.4 million in near-term Food Policy initiatives to address food system priorities for 2019-2024.
