Connecticut exported $65 million to Canada, including:

  • $12.7M in dog or cat food
  • $6.7M in cheese and cheese curds
  • $6.3M in coffee
  • $5.1M in food preparations*
  • $4.0M in baked goods

Connecticut imported $336 million from Canada, including:

  • $52M in baked goods
  • $44M in canola oil
  • $19M in fresh or chilled beef
  • $17M in fresh or chilled cucumbers and gherkins
  • $16M in grain alcohol

Connecticut’s top agriculture and agri-food export markets:

  • Dominican Republic: 26%
  • Mexico: 23%
  • Canada: 17%
  • China: 5%
  • Russia: 4%

* the category “food preparations” includes products such as tea substitutes, vegetable preparations, flavoring extracts, powders and essences, milk or cream substitutes, jelly powders, and juices from concentrate.
