Building on Canada’s greenhouse success, the Controlled Environment Agriculture Growth Pathway Program is investing in technologies and locally driven solutions to increase year-round fruit and vegetable production across Canada.
The program provides $750 million over seven years through two funding streams under Canada's National Food Security Strategy.
The program offers funding through two streams:
- Controlled Environment Agriculture Technology Adoption Stream ($650 million): supports producers in adopting technologies and upgrading or building controlled environment agriculture facilities
- Expanding Local Food Production in Rural and Northern Communities Stream ($100 million): supports rural and northern communities in developing and implementing solutions that address their unique food production challenges
