Accepting applications to the Agricultural Methane Reduction Challenge!

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) invests in innovative, scalable and economically viable practices, processes, and technologies that reduce enteric methane emissions from the cattle sector, specifically cow-calf operations, feedlot, and dairy.

From coast to coast to coast, Canadian farmers and ranchers are hard at work raising top-quality cattle. The sector is taking steps to improve animal health, feed efficiency and pasture management, and these practices contribute to reducing methane emissions while delivering other environmental benefits.

To support these efforts, AAFC launched the new Agricultural Methane Reduction Challenge – designed to accelerate existing successes, spur further innovations and reduce emissions.

This new Challenge will invest in innovative, scalable and economically viable practices, processes, and technologies that reduce methane emissions from the cow-calf operations, feedlot, and dairy sectors.
