Francis: Hi there, my name is Frances Braceland, and I work with the Souris & Area Branch of the PEI Wildfire Federation. We’re here in eastern Prince Edward Island on a local farmer’s field where we’re checking out this wetland that we’ve created…
[Frances walks the perimeter of the wetland, placing small red flags around the wetland’s edge.]
…in partnership with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada as part of their Living Lab – Atlantic project.
[A close-up hand inspects a weed sticking out of the water.]
This wetland was designed with Ducks Unlimited…
[Frances crouches at the edge of the water, holding a small frog in her hands.]
…and the purpose of it is to improve water quality and add new biodiversity and habitat for the area.
[Frances addresses the camera.]
We’re hoping to see lots of flora and fauna growing up in this area as a result of this new creation.
