Instructions
  1. The Schedule 3 is to be completed and submitted to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada 6 months from the date of default for loans other than co-operative loans that exceed the $350,000 or $500,000 limit (as the case may be). For such co-operative loans, Schedule 3 shall be completed and returned within 15 days from the date of default.
  2. A copy of the application form, promissory note, account statement, bill of sale or estimate supporting the loan purpose should accompany the default report.
  3. Care should be taken to provide the correct loan registration number (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada No.) when preparing the default report.
  4. CALA defines the default date as the day after the day on which a payment under a loan was scheduled to have been made, but was not made.
  5. The lender must advise the CALA Administration if the loan is brought current.
  6. The lender has a maximum of 18 months from the date of default to submit a claim for loss (Schedule 4).
