Step 1. What this program offers

The AgriMarketing Program is a $129.97-million program under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP).

The program aims to increase and diversify exports to global markets and seize market opportunities via industry-led promotional activities to differentiate Canadian products and producers, by leveraging Canada's reputation for high-quality and safe food. The program supports a wide range of agricultural sectors, such as:

  • field crops
  • fish and seafood
  • food and beverage
  • horticulture
  • livestock

Program objectives

If you receive funding, you'll work to meet the following program objectives:

  • increase and diversify exports to markets where Canada has free trade agreements in place
  • increase and diversify Canada’s exports to better target demand in emerging global markets
  • increase the visibility of Canadian products with consumers in Canada and abroad
  • increase the capacity of exporting producers to identify and seize market development opportunities across Canada and around the world

Funding

If you receive funding, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) may contribute a total up to $2 million per year or a maximum of $10 million over 5 years toward your project(s).

Cost-sharing

Contributions toward eligible costs will normally be shared between AAFC and you as follows:

  • AAFC — a maximum of 50%
  • You — a minimum of 50%

Your portion of the cost-share must be cash contributions.note 1 In-kind contributions are ineligible.note 2

You may receive an additional 20% on the cost-share ratio under the following 2 priority areas:

  • AAFC — 70%
  • You — 30%
  1. to support eligible project activities for market diversification efforts targeting the following lucrative, high-growth markets in the Indo-Pacific Region:
    • Bangladesh
    • Brunei
    • Cambodia
    • Indonesia
    • Laos
    • Malaysia
    • Myanmar
    • Nepal
    • the Philippines
    • Pakistan
    • Singapore
    • Sri Lanka
    • Taiwan
    • Thailand
    • Vietnam
  2. where the majority of the business (more than 50%) is owned or led by one or more of the following underrepresented and marginalized groups:
    • Indigenous Peoples
    • youth, aged 39 and under
    • women
    • visible minorities
    • persons with disabilities
    • 2SLGBTQI+
