AgriScience Program – Projects: Step 6. After you apply

Step 6. After you apply

After you submit your application, we will send you an acknowledgement notice.

Note: You should not consider an application as submitted to the program until you receive the acknowledgement notice.

First-time program applicants will be prioritized in the review process.

If you are invited to submit a full application, you will receive additional information to provide these documents:

  • Completed application
  • A copy of the organization's Certificates or Articles of Incorporation.
    • Additional options for Indigenous applicants: a copy of a Band Council Resolution (BCR), a Tribal Council Resolution (TCR), a Director's Resolution (DR), or legal document stating they are a legal entity can be accepted as proof the applicant is a legal entity.
  • A copy of the last 2 years' financial statements (audited or review engagement)
  • Completed Performance Measures Table
  • Executive Summary
  • Endorsement letters for the project/letters of support
  • Capital Asset Pre-approval for Grants and Contributions Programs
  • Letters of Acknowledgement (from financial contributors and from research organizations that will be performing the work)

Reports you must provide

Should you be approved for funding, you must complete reports which include:

  • Progress reports — reports describing the activities completed and progress made toward activities described in the project work plan
  • Performance reports — a Performance Measures Table (PMT) is required for each proposed project and will be integrated into final agreement(s)
    • Projects require one PMT for performance of measurement of all activities
    • If an activity has work being done under both a contribution agreement and a Collaborative Research and Development Agreement, only one PMT is required for the activity
    • PMTs for any Vote 1 activities must be developed in collaboration with AAFC researchers collaborating on your proposal
    • Please refer to performance measures for further instructions on performance measures and requirements
  • Financial reports — Financial reporting is required with each request for reimbursement of expenditures, and other financial reports. For more information, refer to cost categories
  • Other reports that we ask for

Service Standards

Our goal is to:

  • respond to general inquiries made to our phone number or email address before the end of the next business day
  • acknowledge receipt of your application within one business day
  • assess your application and send you an approval or a rejection notification letter within 100 business days of receiving a complete application package

Please note that even if all eligibility criteria are met, the submission of an application creates no obligation on the part of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to provide funding for the project. The Minister retains discretion to determine, based on other public policies and public interest considerations, whether an application will ultimately receive funding.
