Eligibility checklist

You must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible.

    • individual producer
    • partner in a partnership
    • corporation
    • co-operative
    • communal organization
    • landlord in a joint venturenote 1
    • estate
    • trust
    • limited partnership
    • Status Indian and Band Farm farming on a reserve

You need to meet all the eligibility criteria to qualify for the program.

Ineligible applicants

Ineligible applicants include:

  • government funded organizations, including research stations, universities and colleges
  • landlords earning rental income (cash rent or payments-in-kind) for crop or livestock shares or arrangementsnote 1
  • former federal public office holders or public servants who are not in compliance with federal conflict of interest guidelines
  • dissolved corporations

Eligible commodities

Most commodities reported to the Canada Revenue Agency as farming income are eligible for the program. For more information, visit Is your production eligible?

AgriStability is delivered by the federal government in Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories and Yukon.

AgriStability is delivered provincially in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island.
